Description

Main mission was to continue the study of the space environment started by SUCHAI Cubesat, but this time using two magnetometers, a particle counter, a double-frequency GPS, and a flat Langmuir probe. The flat Langmuir probe of SUCHAI-2, contrary to the spherical deployable Langmuir probe of SUCHAI, requires attitude control of the satellite. Thus, the second main mission of SUCHAI-2 was to estimate and control the satellite by using several inertial sensors, an inhouse-developed star tracker, magnetorquers, and an in-house-developed three-reaction-wheel system.

Thus, we added a UV-visible camera to SUCHAI-2 with the support of another Chilean grant, funding that in the end paid for its launch.
