PETRUS, an innovative pulsed electric propulsion system, will give SOURCE-2 greater maneuverability in orbit. The propulsion system originates from the IRS and will be further developed by KSat and integrated into SOURCE-2.

The IRS also supports the DETECT experiment, which tests autonomous object detection for relative navigation in low Earth orbit. This is a step for future on-orbit servicing missions and concepts for combating space debris.

In addition, we are working together with SeeSat eV on a high-performance direct downlink system. A big thank you goes to the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg, which is funding SOURCE-2 as part of the state strategy for aerospace THE aerospace LÄND .
