Rapid follow-up of Gamma Ray Bursts using telescope for 1-1.7 micron observations with actively cooled detector.

Description

Rapid follow-up of Gamma Ray Bursts originating in the infancy of the Universe and in searching for extra-solar planet around the coldest stars in the Solar neighbourhood. Reflective telescope optimized for 1-1.7 micron observations with an actively cooled detector with 4 megapixel.

SpIRIT, to be launched by 2022, represents a substantial step towards SkyHopper’s ultimate success, and demonstrates the strength of the collaboration between the two countries for conducting astrophysics research from space.
