Monitor the buildup of contaminants inside spacecraft and test pulsed plasma thruster.

Description

The launch will be carried out as part of the Universat program, the largest project of the Roscosmos State Corporation for the launch of small CubeSat-format satellites.

The satellite's main scientific instrument will be the Meridian-Amur instrument, developed by young researchers at Amur State University. It is designed to monitor the buildup of contaminants inside spacecraft—thin films of sublimated substances that form on the surfaces of equipment and reduce its efficiency, particularly in optical systems.

Another payload on the satellite is a promising propulsion system based on the Moscow Aviation Institute's ablative pulsed plasma engine. It is designed for maneuvering the spacecraft: orbital adjustments, extending its operational life, or controlled deorbiting to avoid creating space debris.

The launch will be the first flight of the Meridian-Amur device: previous versions were tested on Earth. The development is planned to be installed on the Russian-Belarusian satellite.
