Description

Pluton UPV is a multidisciplinary project carried out by students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Universitat Politècnica de València, UPV), with the objective to design, assemble, validate and operate a 2U CubeSat: Estigia, the first Valencian satellite.

Estigia carries an innovative payload consisting of a chatbot capable of conversing with users in Earth by using a small ground terminal composed of a transceiver and antenna kit. The chat user interface is provided by a cross-platform application developed in-house. The onboard AI conducts text messaging conversations with users on Earth, and the chatbot can transmit internal satellite data upon the user’s request via this chat.

Furthermore, the team has jointly launched with UPV a crowdfunding campaign in order to complete the satellite's subsystems, with a target of 30,000 €.

Notes

Launch year is an estimation.
