| Description |
Demonstrate the feasibility of using CubeSats to diagnose malfunctions or failure in – and perform on orbit repairs on – conventional satellites. Autonomous Mobile On-orbit Diagnostic System (AMODS) which utilizes CubeSats to perform on-orbit inspections on conventional spacecraft. AMODS comprises a multiple CubeSat arrangement wherein one self-propelled CubeSat will deliver one of several repair CubeSats with manipulable arms to spacecraft for the purpose of providing diagnostic, maintenance and repair services. Two 60 cm, 7 degree-of-freedom robotic arms fitted with claws and is intended to demonstrate diagnostic and repair capabilities by validating five robotic functions in orbit. |
