Demonstrate platform for tech demonstration of Norwegian technology.

Description

The FRAMSat mission framework is envisioned as a satellite-based platform for tech demonstration of bleeding-edge Norwegian technology. FRAMSat-1 is the first in a series of satellites in cooperation with leading players within the Norwegian industry. Our goal is to make space accessible for students and industry, where FRAMSat-1 will set the standard for the new Norwegian space race.

The mission aims to validate a baseline 1U bus developed by Orbit NTNU. Additionally, our industry partner Eidsvold Electronics EIDEL has developed a sun sensor prototype which will be an integral part of the mission. Developed entirely by students, the satellite comprises several advanced subsystems intended to gather as much information as possible for use within research and development in collaboration with Andøya Space.

Hoping to launch from Andøya in late 2022, FRAMSat-1 aims to be the first all-Norwegian satellite to be launched into low earth orbit from Norwegian soil. We want to create a foundation for the new Norwegian space adventure, bringing space closer to home.
