Expand open-source platform and test imaging camera for wildfires.
|
Description |
Expand our open-source platform to include accessible, open-source satellite software, electronic, and mechanical designs to increase Canadian and world access to space.
Test an imaging instrument designed to collect information for predicting, tracking, and monitoring the impact of wildfire on vegetation and land. Multispectral imaging payload called Iris. Iris will house two optical sensors for gathering scientific data in the blue, red, near-infrared, and short-wave infrared wavelength bands. Through this instrument, we aim to demonstrate the capability to gather scientifically useful data for wildfire research in the visible + near-infrared and short-wave infrared bands from a CubeSat platform.
Fly a digital flux-gate magnometer, an instrument designed to monitor and better understand the effects of space weather on our communications systems.
A MIDI audio transmission setting which will be used for outreach activities.
Constellation consisting of 3 satellites: AlbertaSAT_Ex-Alta 2, YukonSat, and AuroraSat. Together, they form a common mission referred to as the Northern SPIRIT Consortium.
